Entry into the Senior School (Years 7 - 11) is by assessment.
The first stage of the entrance procedure is to complete our online enquiry form.
For entry at all levels we would advise you to come to visit the School, and individual visits around the School can be made on any working day.
Entrance to Nottingham High School at age 11 is by assessment. Once you have returned a completed Application Form your child is automatically registered for the exam. The examination consists of a verbal / non-verbal Reasoning test done on a computer, a Mathematics paper and an English paper. The deadline for bursary applications is the 1st November, as we will then send you further bursary application documents to be completed by the 1st December. For all other applications the deadline is the 1st December. We can usually accept later applications from parents that are relocating to the area.
Following on from the exam, a selection of students are invited in for an interview and the final offers are made in the following fortnight.

ENTRY YEARs 8, 9 & 10
Our main point of entry is for Year 7 entry (age 11); however there is also the opportunity to join the school in Years 8-10. Entry into Years 8, 9 and 10 is by assessment and interview. Please note there is no financial support available for students joining in these year groups.

The School is not licensed by the UK Border Agency to sponsor pupils from outside the European Economic Area (or accept transfers from other schools who can), and by making this application you confirm that you and your child have the right to enter, live and study in the UK for the duration of the education offered by the School.
